System requirements

Playout Studio TV runs together with vMix or OBS on the same machine. Size the PC for both.

Compare the minimum to try the product and the optimal setup for stable 24/7 air. Specs assume Playout + emission engine (vMix or OBS) open at the same time.

OK for demo, tests and light channels. May feel tight with NDI preview or many overlays.

Intel Core i5 (8th gen+) or AMD Ryzen 5 (3000+), 4 cores / 8 threads.

8 GB RAM (practical minimum with Playout + OBS/vMix).

SSD 256 GB or more; free space for the app, engine and daily media.
Graphics
DirectX 11 GPU. Integrated may work for tests; dedicated is preferred.
Desktop / laptop
Desktop or laptop. On laptops: plugged in, well ventilated; not ideal for 24/7.

1920×1080, Windows scale at 100%.
Air engine
vMix or OBS Studio installed separately (OBS with WebSocket enabled).
Network
Internet to activate/validate the license; weather/downloads if used.

Recommended for continuous air, ads, GCs and NDI monitoring without saturating the PC.

NVIDIA GTX 1660 / RTX 3060 or better (or AMD equivalent). Better for NDI, GCs and encoding.
Desktop / laptop
Dedicated desktop PC for the channel (24/7). Laptop only if powerful and well cooled.
Display
1920×1080 or higher; optional second monitor (ops / program).
Air engine
vMix (stronger for STREAM/NDI/camera) or a well-sized OBS Studio setup.
Network
Stable connection; Ethernet preferred on the air PC.

Important

Playout does not replace vMix or OBS: both must run while you are on air. CPU, RAM and GPU load is Playout + the engine combined.

Do not use the air PC for heavy browsing, downloads or games. On laptops, stay plugged in with clear ventilation.
